For Hogue Genesis, we seek wine grapes from the most distinctive vineyard sites in Eastern Washington. Overall, 2008 was a cooler-than-average year, beginning with an unusually cool spring, which led to late bud break. During summer, the ripening fruit enjoyed even temperatures with no significant heat spikes. September and October were cool and dry. The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a silky richness and great depth with blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry flavors, along with a trace of warm vanilla and nutmeg.
